Description

The QTX 10cm disco ball is built from glass mirror tiles laid in offset rows across a lightweight core, with a metal hanging ring at the crown. Each tile measures 7mm square and reflects light in multiple directions when the ball is rotated or illuminated by a pinspot or small directional light source.

Designed for table centrepieces, retail display units, small bar installations and home party decoration, the 10cm diameter makes this the smallest disco ball in the QTX range. At 240g the ball hangs from standard picture hooks, ceiling roses or purpose-made hanging motors without needing heavy-duty fixings. The ball works best when paired with a focused LED or halogen spotlight positioned 1-2m away, casting moving reflections across walls and ceilings when the ball rotates.

The glass tiles are applied to a foam or plastic core and backed with adhesive, giving a traditional mirror-ball finish rather than a printed or film surface. The 7mm tile size produces smaller, sharper reflections compared to larger-format tiles on professional-grade balls, creating a glittering effect suited to close-range viewing rather than large-venue projection. The plain silver finish pairs with most colour schemes and integrates into both retro disco styling and contemporary installations.

Frequently Asked

Does the ball include a motor?

No. The ball includes a metal hanging ring for static suspension. Rotation requires a separate mirror ball motor, which attaches to the ring and spins the ball at a controlled speed.

What light source works best with a 10cm ball?

A small LED pinspot or directional spotlight positioned 1-2m from the ball produces the clearest reflections. The 10cm diameter suits close-range installations rather than large-venue projection, so high-wattage fixtures are unnecessary.

Can it be used outdoors?

The ball is not weatherproof. The glass tiles and adhesive backing will degrade under sustained moisture, UV exposure and temperature changes. It is designed for indoor installation only.

How is the ball hung?

The metal ring at the crown fits a standard S-hook, which can hang from a ceiling rose, picture hook or motor attachment. At 240g the ball does not require heavy-duty fixings for static display.
