Description

This is a single artificial protea on one long stem, standing 100cm tall with a flower head 22cm across. The head is the heart of it: a ring of long, pointed pink bracts reaches out around a domed, bristly centre, much as a real protea does, and broad leaves with a crinkled, papery look branch off the upper stem just beneath it. It is made from 80% polyester, 10% iron and 10% polyethylene, and at 0.14KG it is light enough to move from room to room.

At 100cm this is a tall stem, best in a floor vase or a tall vase on a sideboard, a hallway console or the end of a dining table. On its own it gives an empty corner of a living room or landing a bold, spiky outline, and because it is artificial it needs no water and will not wilt, which suits anyone who wants flowers in the house all year without the weekly round of buying fresh ones. It also works among other artificial or dried stems in a mixed arrangement or a basket, where the large head gives the eye a natural focal point.
