Description
The Preso is a garden spike light built to push light up through borders, beds and planting in a sheltered outdoor spot. It stands on a slim aluminium alloy body around 300 mm tall with a Ø90 mm head, and takes a single E27 lamp running on 220 to 240V AC mains at up to 10 watts. Sold as a landscape spike light in many markets, it lets you pick the lamp to suit the look you want, from a warm glow over foliage to a brighter accent on a feature plant or low wall.
Use it to graze light up the stems of shrubs, mark the edge of a path or pick out a specimen tree in a front border. Because it throws an upward accent beam rather than washing a room, the spread depends on the E27 lamp fitted and how close it sits to what it lights, so treat it as targeted uplighting rather than general area coverage. Position several along a planting run for an even rhythm of pools of light, and keep it under cover such as a porch, carport or well-sheltered border since the IP44 rating handles splashes and damp air but not direct hose jets or standing water.
The body is aluminium alloy in an anthracite finish that sits quietly against soil, bark and stone. The integral ground spike stakes straight into earth or a planted bed, so there is no bracket, recess or wall fixing to deal with, and it can be repositioned as planting grows in. Wired to mains voltage through the E27 holder, it suits standard outdoor-rated lamps and needs no separate transformer. Dimming depends on the lamp you choose. The Preso range includes further outdoor fittings in the same anthracite finish to match across a scheme.

Frequently Asked
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, within limits. The IP44 rating makes it splash and damp resistant, so it is well suited to sheltered borders, covered paths and spots under a porch or carport. Keep it clear of direct hose jets and standing water, as it is not rated for full exposure or submersion.
Can the spike angle be adjusted?
The fitting stakes vertically into soil and you set its aim by how you push the spike into the ground and which way the head faces. Repositioning is simple: lift it out and re-stake it as planting fills in or you change the scheme. Firm the soil around the spike so it stays upright.
Does it need a transformer or run on mains?
It runs directly on 220 to 240V AC mains through the E27 lamp holder, so no separate low-voltage transformer is required. Outdoor wiring should be installed by a qualified electrician and connected through suitable weatherproof provision.
Is a bulb included?
No bulb is supplied, so you choose an E27 lamp up to 10 watts to suit the effect you want. A warm white LED works well for grazing foliage, while a higher output picks out a feature more strongly. Use an outdoor-rated lamp given the fitting's garden location.
