Description

The PowerMaster S17441 is a 42W constant current LED driver delivering 1000mA output to LED luminaires. The driver accepts 220-240V mains input and regulates a constant 1000mA current across an output voltage range of 20-42V DC, allowing it to power LED arrays totalling between 20W and 42W depending on their forward voltage drop.

Designed for indoor residential, commercial and retail lighting installations where dimming control is needed, the driver supports both DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) and Triac phase-control dimming protocols. The dimming range runs from 1% to 100%, giving fine control at the low end without flicker or dropout. The isolated circuit topology separates mains input from DC output, making the driver suitable for both Class I (earthed) and Class II (double-insulated) luminaires.

The driver measures approximately 140mm x 42mm x 21mm and weighs 130g, fitting inside most recessed downlight housings, ceiling voids and track light bodies where space is limited. The IP20 enclosure rating restricts use to dry indoor locations — Zone 3 bathrooms (outside the tub/shower zones) are acceptable, but the driver must not be installed in Zones 0, 1 or 2 where water contact or condensation is likely. The power factor of >0.95 reduces reactive power draw on the mains supply, meeting building regulations for commercial installations and improving efficiency in larger multi-luminaire setups.

Frequently Asked

What dimming systems does this driver support?

The S17441 supports DALI (digital addressable lighting interface) and Triac phase-control dimming. It dims from 1% to 100%, allowing fine low-end control without visible flicker. Compatibility with specific dimmer switches should be confirmed before installation.

What LED arrays can it power?

The driver delivers a constant 1000mA across an output voltage range of 20-42V DC. This means it can power LED arrays with a total forward voltage between 20V and 42V, corresponding to wattages between 20W and 42W. Check your LED module's forward voltage specification to confirm compatibility.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating and Zone 3 suitability allow installation in bathroom areas outside the tub and shower zones, typically 2.25m or more from the bath edge and outside the shower cubicle footprint. It must not be installed in Zones 0, 1 or 2 where water contact or high humidity occurs.

What are the physical dimensions?

The driver measures approximately 140mm long, 42mm wide and 21mm high, fitting inside most recessed downlight housings, ceiling voids and track light bodies. The orange terminal blocks at each end add minimal extra length for wire connection.
