Description

A shallow dome of opal white glass held in a satin black rim, this is lighting that keeps out of the way. It sits tight to the ceiling and spreads light softly in all directions, the opal glass taking the glare off the lamp behind it. At 22cm across it is one of the smaller fittings we sell, so it reads as a neat circle rather than a feature. It takes an E27 lamp, and an LED GLS bulb suits it well, with dimming possible where both the bulb and the dimmer are made for it.

This is the sort of thing we fit in halls, landings, box rooms and small kitchens, and anywhere a pendant would hang too low for comfort. Because it is rated against splashing water, it also works in bathrooms and shower rooms, above a basin or across a compact ceiling where headroom is tight. The lamp rating tops out at 20W, which in LED terms gives plenty of light for a modest room, and the low profile means it stays clear of a door swing or a raised arm.

Glass and metal, with the satin finish carried around the visible rim and the opal shade doing all the diffusing. Wipe the glass now and then with a barely damp cloth and dry it off; in a bathroom that keeps limescale marks from building up where steam has settled. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same design in satin nickel, in a larger diameter, and as a two light version for wider rooms, so a hall and a bathroom can be matched without mixing shapes. Lamps are not included.
