Description

Two jobs sit in one shallow body here: a dimmable LED ceiling light with a DC fan built in behind it. The light tunes from warm white through to a cooler, brighter daylight tone, and the supplied remote controls both the brightness and the tone, so the room can shift from working light to something much softer in the evening. Output reaches 3800 lumens at full tilt. The fan is quiet, and it reverses, so it can push warmer air back down through the room in the colder months instead of cooling it.

We reach for this in bedrooms, living rooms and home offices where a pendant would hang too low or a separate fan would be one fitting too many. At 58cm across it suits a decent-sized room rather than a box room, and the moisture rating means it copes with the humidity of a bathroom or a warm kitchen. Anyone who wants light and air movement without cluttering the ceiling will get on with it well.

The finish is Beige Oscu, a soft neutral that reads as warm rather than stark, and it settles quietly against pale plaster or a painted ceiling. The driver is built in and the LED is integral, so there is nothing to replace and no lamp to buy. For cleaning, wait until everything is off and cool, then run a dry microfibre cloth over the diffuser and along each blade; dust gathers on the leading edges first, so start there.
