Polinesia Outdoor Wall Light Woven Rope - Beige

The Polinesia is a 305mm outdoor wall light with a curved open-weave structure formed from weather-resistant textilene rope in beige. The woven pattern wraps around a central E27 bulb fitting, creating a barrel-like form that diffuses light through the gaps in the rope while protecting the bulb from direct exposure. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as covered porches, pergolas and underside-of-eaves locations.

Designed for residential exterior use, the Polinesia suits porch entries, patio seating areas and garden walls where a softer, more textured aesthetic is needed than traditional metal or glass wall lights provide. The open-weave allows light to scatter in multiple directions, creating a dappled pattern on adjacent surfaces rather than a focused beam. The 180mm projection from the wall provides clearance for larger E27 bulbs including globe-style filament lamps or LED equivalents.

The beige textilene rope is UV-resistant and designed to withstand outdoor exposure without fading or deteriorating in the way natural wicker or rattan would. The material has a woven appearance similar to hand-crafted basketwork but maintains consistent tensioning and spacing between strands. At 0.9kg the fitting is light enough to mount on most exterior wall types without needing additional support. The neutral beige tone pairs comfortably with timber cladding, stone, painted render and ceramic tile surfaces.

The E27 socket accepts any standard screw-base bulb up to the fixture's maximum wattage rating, giving flexibility to choose warm-white, cool-white, amber filament or coloured lamps depending on the atmosphere required. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb selected — pair with a dimmable LED and compatible outdoor dimmer for variable light levels.

Is the Polinesia suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP44 rating means the fitting is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor areas such as covered porches, pergolas and underside-of-eaves positions. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to direct heavy rain or submersion.

What bulb does it take?

The Polinesia takes a standard E27 screw-base bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K, or a decorative amber filament bulb for a warmer glow. Check the maximum wattage rating in the Specification tab before selecting a bulb.

Can the woven rope be cleaned?

Yes. The textilene rope can be wiped with a damp cloth to remove dust and surface dirt. For more stubborn marks, a mild soapy water solution and soft brush can be used, rinsed off with clean water and allowed to air-dry. Avoid pressure washers or abrasive cleaners.

Does the rope fade in sunlight?

The textilene material is UV-resistant and designed to withstand outdoor exposure without significant fading. Some minor tonal shift may occur over several years of direct sunlight exposure, but this is gradual and minimal compared to natural fibres.
