Description

Air movement and light in one fitting: a ceiling light with a DC fan built into the body, finished in soft beige oscu. It measures 58cm across and keeps a shallow profile for something with a fan inside it. The integrated LED is tuneable white, running from a warm evening tone up to a cool daylight one, and gives 3800 lumens at full output. Switching, dimming and the fan are all run from the remote that comes with it, and the driver is built in.

We would fit this where a room needs cooling in summer but there is no floor space to give up to a fan: bedrooms, home offices, sitting rooms and garden rooms. The fan reverses, so in winter it can push warmed air back down from the ceiling rather than drawing it up. It is rated against splashes as well, which makes it usable in a bathroom or a utility room where steam builds. The remote suits anyone who would rather adjust brightness from a chair than get up.

The finish is a muted sandy neutral that settles quietly against white and off-white ceilings, and the round housing keeps the whole thing calm to look at when the blades are still. Dust settles faster on a fan than on a plain shade, so run a soft dry cloth over the blades and the underside every few months with the power off at the switch, and keep sprays and damp cloths away from the light source. It carries a five year warranty. The same fitting is made in a larger size in this beige, which is the one we would choose for a wide open-plan room. The LED is built in, so there is nothing to fit before you use it.
