Description

The Pole is an 80cm graphite aluminium spike light with a rectangular 2.5cm-square column and a single vertical LED strip running the length of one face. The integrated 12W LED produces 3000K warm white light that casts a narrow beam onto the ground alongside the post, functioning as pathway marker and accent lighting rather than area flood.

Designed for pathways, driveways, garden borders and external steps, the Pole mounts directly into soft ground via the included spike base, or onto concrete and hard surfaces using an optional mounting kit. The IP65 rating protects the LED module and internal components against rain, dust and wind-blown debris, allowing year-round installation in exposed UK climates. The sealed power connector at the base prevents moisture ingress at the cable entry point.

The graphite powder-coat finish on the extruded aluminium column provides corrosion resistance and a matte dark grey appearance that recedes visually against foliage, stone paving and dark-toned external cladding. The 80cm height sits below typical fence-line sightlines while positioning the light source above low planting and ground-level obstacles. At 2.5cm square the column has minimal visual presence during daylight.

Can this be installed on concrete or paving?

The Pole ships with a spike base for soft ground installation. For concrete, paving or decking an optional surface-mount kit is required. Contact us to confirm availability and compatibility before ordering if hard-surface mounting is needed.

What spacing is recommended between posts?

For pathway lighting where the primary function is marking rather than illumination, spacing of 1.5-2.5m between posts works well. For functional pathway lighting where visibility of the path surface matters, reduce spacing to 1-1.5m depending on the width of the path and surrounding ambient light levels.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED module is integrated and not user-replaceable. The 12W LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation, equating to around 8-10 years of typical evening-only use before noticeable degradation.

How is the cable connected?

The Pole includes a sealed power connector at the base. External low-voltage garden lighting cable connects to this sealed junction, which prevents moisture ingress. The fitting requires mains supply via a suitable outdoor transformer and weather-rated cabling installed by a qualified electrician.
