Description

The Pole is a 120cm aluminium spike light with a 2.5cm square profile and a single vertical LED strip set into one face. The integrated 18W LED emits 3000K warm white light through a narrow aperture, casting directional illumination along pathways, driveways and planting borders without spilling wide ambient light across the surrounding area.

Designed for outdoor installation in residential gardens, commercial landscaping and pathway lighting schemes, the Pole suits both soft ground (soil, grass, gravel) and hard surfaces (concrete, paving) when paired with a suitable fixing method. The IP65 rating protects against rain, snow and dust ingress, making the fitting suitable for year-round outdoor use in the UK climate. The 142.2cm maximum height accounts for the ground spike extension below the visible 120cm column.

The graphite powder-coated aluminium finish provides corrosion resistance and a low-key matt appearance that recedes into darker planting schemes or contrasts against pale paving and render. The narrow 2.5cm profile allows the fitting to be positioned close to walls, fences and planting without obstructing footpaths or creating trip hazards. The sealed mains connection at the base requires 220-240V AC wiring and should be installed by a qualified electrician to maintain the IP65 rating.

Can the Pole be installed in hard ground or paving?

The Pole includes a ground spike for soft installation (soil, grass, gravel). For hard surfaces such as concrete or paving, a separate mounting base or core-drilled socket is required. The spike can be removed to allow bolt-fixing to a hard surface base.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 18W LED is integrated into the aluminium body and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 10 years of typical evening-only operation.

What is the light distribution pattern?

The LED strip emits directional light from one face of the 2.5cm square column, creating a narrow vertical wash of light along the ground in front of the fitting. It does not provide 360-degree ambient illumination — the light is concentrated on the side facing the path or border.

Does the graphite finish fade or corrode outdoors?

The aluminium body is powder-coated in graphite and rated IP65 for outdoor use. In coastal or high-salt environments, periodic rinsing with fresh water will help maintain the finish. The powder coating is UV-stable and should not fade significantly under typical UK sunlight exposure.
