Description

The Polana is a 6 light semi-flush ceiling light with a polished chrome circular frame holding six precision-cut optical prism glass shades arranged symmetrically around a central chrome canopy. Each shade houses a G4 halogen bulb (included) behind faceted crystal-style glass that refracts light into soft prismatic colour bands across surrounding surfaces. The 270mm projection from ceiling to base gives enough clearance for ambient light throw without dropping into head space.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Polana suits dining rooms, hallway landings, and reception areas where ceiling-mounted ambient light is needed without the long drop of a full pendant. The 460mm diameter footprint provides coverage for spaces of 12-16m² without overwhelming smaller rooms. The semi-flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose with the canopy sitting flush against the plaster, hiding all cable runs and fixings.

The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and creates a bright metallic accent that pairs with both warm and cool-toned interiors. The optical prism glass shades are individually faceted and polished, so when the bulbs are lit the glass itself becomes part of the light source, scattering refracted bands across walls and ceilings. The fixture is dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer, allowing output to be adjusted from full 120W brightness down to a softer glow for evening use. The G4 halogen bulbs are not compatible with LED or CFL alternatives, so replacement bulbs must be halogen capsules rated at 20W per socket.

Is the Polana dimmable?

Yes, the Polana is dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer. Standard leading-edge dimmers are not compatible with the G4 halogen bulbs and may cause flickering or buzzing. Check that your dimmer is rated for halogen loads and supports trailing-edge operation.

Can I use LED G4 bulbs instead of halogen?

No. The Polana is not compatible with LED or CFL bulbs. Replacement bulbs must be G4 halogen capsules rated at 20W per socket. Using LED bulbs may cause the fixture to flicker, fail to dim correctly, or void the warranty.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 270mm projection means the base of the fixture sits 270mm below the ceiling once fitted. For rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, this leaves approximately 2.1m clearance to the floor, which is adequate for most residential spaces. Lower ceilings may feel crowded with a 460mm-wide fixture at this drop.

Yes. The Polana ships with six G4 halogen bulbs pre-fitted. Replacement bulbs are widely available from lighting retailers and must be G4 halogen capsules rated at 20W maximum per socket.
