Description
The Point-2 is a grey resin outdoor spike light with a single GX53 bulb fitting housed in an IP66-rated adjustable head. The 150mm-tall spike pushes into soil, gravel or soft ground, positioning the spotlight head at ground level to uplight trees, shrubs, architectural features or pathway edges. The head tilts on a stainless steel bracket, allowing the beam to be angled from horizontal up to approximately 60 degrees depending on the installation angle.
Designed for garden borders, driveways, patios and commercial landscaping where accent lighting is needed without permanent groundwork or trenching for fixed posts, the Point-2 can be repositioned as planting schemes or lighting needs change. The GX53 fitting accepts standard low-profile LED bulbs (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose beam angle and colour temperature based on the application. The spike length of 150mm works in most border soils; harder ground may need pre-drilling.
The grey resin body resists corrosion from fertilisers, salt spray and atmospheric moisture, and Ideal Lux rate the material for continuous outdoor use in temperatures from -60°C to +90°C. The IP66 sealing protects the bulb holder and internal wiring from dust ingress and high-pressure water jets, so the fitting survives hosing, heavy rain and snow without needing seasonal removal. The neutral grey finish sits unobtrusively in planting beds during daylight and disappears once the light is on after dark.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Point-2 take?
The fitting takes a GX53 bulb, which is a low-profile twist-and-lock format commonly used in recessed and compact outdoor fittings. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GX53 LED in 2700K-3000K warm white for garden uplighting.
Can it be used in hard ground or paving?
The 150mm spike is designed for soil, gravel or soft ground. In compacted clay or hard ground, pre-drill a pilot hole to avoid bending the spike. The fitting cannot be driven into paving or concrete without a pre-drilled mounting hole.
Is the light head adjustable after installation?
Yes. The head tilts on a bracket, allowing the beam angle to be adjusted from near-horizontal up to approximately 60 degrees. This means you can reposition the light direction as plants grow or seasonal planting changes without moving the spike.
Does the IP66 rating mean it can be submerged?
No. IP66 provides full dust protection and resistance to high-pressure water jets, but it is not rated for continuous submersion. The Point-2 can sit in waterlogged soil or heavy rain without issue, but should not be installed in locations that flood deeper than the base of the light head.
