Description

The Photonix is a single-light outdoor wall light with a cylindrical coffee brown aluminium body supporting an opal white acrylic globe diffuser. The light mounts on a horizontal bracket that extends 95mm from the wall, positioning the globe clear of rendered or brick surfaces. An E27 bulb fitting inside the globe (bulb sold separately) casts light through the matt white diffuser in all directions, providing ambient illumination rather than directed task lighting.

Designed for entrance porches, garage doors, covered patios and garden walls where soft background lighting is needed, the Photonix carries an IP44 rating that protects against water splashes from any direction and dust ingress above 1mm. This makes it suitable for use in exposed outdoor locations where rain reaches the fitting but not for full submersion or direct hosing. The aluminium body is powder-coated in a mid-tone coffee brown that weathers to a subtle patina over time and pairs with timber cladding, brick and neutral render finishes.

The 90mm height and compact cylindrical form keep the profile low against the wall, making the Photonix suitable for installation beside front doors, along covered walkways or on lower-height garden walls where a larger lantern-style fitting would dominate. The E27 bulb socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose light output and colour temperature depending on the installation context. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Photonix takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor porch and garden use.

Is it suitable for exposed outdoor locations?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and dust ingress, making it suitable for covered porches, garage entrances, garden walls and patios where rain reaches the fitting. It is not rated for submersion or direct hosing.

Is the Photonix dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. Dimming capability depends on pairing it with both a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. Standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim even with a dimmer in place.

What fixing method does it use?

The horizontal wall bracket has pre-drilled fixing holes for screws and wall plugs. The bracket is designed to mount onto brick, block, timber or rendered surfaces using appropriate fixings for the substrate.
