Description

The Phostis is a 557mm dual-function wall or semi-flush ceiling light with a gold-finished metal bar supporting two white blown glass globes, each housing a G9 bulb fitting. The glass diffusers attach to the bar with concealed fixings, creating a clean profile whether mounted horizontally on a wall or flush beneath a ceiling.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms (IP20 zones only) and living spaces where both ceiling and wall mounting flexibility is useful, the Phostis functions as task lighting over a bathroom mirror when wall-mounted, or as ambient illumination when ceiling-mounted. The 120mm projection from the wall gives clearance for the globes without dominating narrow hallways. The dual G9 fittings accept standard capsule bulbs (sold separately) up to the maximum rating shown in the Specification tab, and the fixture is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9-rated dimmer.

The white blown glass diffusers are hand-formed, so minor variation in opacity and bubble patterns between the two globes is normal. The gold finish on the metal bar has a warm tone that pairs with brass tapware, gold-framed mirrors and warm-toned interiors. The bar itself is hollow-section metal rather than solid, keeping the overall weight manageable at approximately 1.2kg for wall installation on plasterboard with suitable fixings.

Can this be mounted on a wall or ceiling?

Yes. The Phostis is designed for dual mounting — wall or semi-flush ceiling. The same fitting can be used in either orientation. Wall mounting is common over bathroom mirrors or in hallways, while ceiling mounting suits bedrooms and smaller living spaces.

What bulbs does it take?

Two G9 capsule bulbs are required (sold separately). Most users pair this with 2.5-4W LED G9 bulbs at 2700-3000K for warm white light suitable for residential interiors. Check the Specification tab for the maximum wattage rating.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch rated for G9 LED loads. Standard rotary dimmers designed for halogen may not dim LED G9 bulbs smoothly.

What's the IP rating — can it be used in bathrooms?

The Phostis carries an IP20 rating, suitable for Zone 3 in UK bathrooms (600mm+ from the bath or shower) but not for zones 0, 1 or 2 where higher IP ratings are required by building regulations.
