Description

The Pesvette is a round recessed downlight with a black plastic body and a slim black trim 9cm in diameter. Its inner ring tilts, so instead of lighting only the floor beneath it, it lets you aim the beam towards the part of the room that matters. It takes a GU10 bulb of up to 5W, and the bulb is not included, which leaves you free to pick the colour temperature and beam you prefer. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: this is a fitting for indoor, dry rooms.

We would put it in living rooms, hallways, bedrooms, studies and kitchens, anywhere you want light from the ceiling without a pendant or a shade in the way. The tilting ring is the real gain: angle it towards a framed print, a shelf of books or a textured wall and the ceiling stays clean while the light does the work. A run of them along a hallway or across a kitchen ceiling gives a tidy, modern look, and the black trim stands out neatly against a white or pale ceiling. Because it is rated IP20, keep it away from bathrooms, shower rooms and anywhere outdoors.

It needs a ceiling cut-out of 6.8cm and a recess depth of 2.5cm, and it runs on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz. There is no switch on the downlight itself; it is switched at the wall. As a mains fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download.
