Description
This tealight holder is made from 100% stoneware in blue, with a rounded bowl raised on a short, flared foot. Its sides are pierced all the way round with almond-shaped and triangular cut-outs, so once a tealight is lit inside, the glow shows through the pattern and the holder reads as a small lantern rather than a plain pot. A speckled, glossy surface catches the light too, giving the blue a sense of depth. At 9cm across and 8.5cm tall it is a compact piece, sized for a tealight and small enough to sit on a narrow shelf or among a group of other objects.
It suits anywhere you want a little soft light in the evening: a sideboard or hallway console, a mantelpiece, a deep windowsill or a bedside table. On a dining table, a few spaced down the centre make an easy centrepiece that stays low enough to keep the view across the table clear, and the pattern looks right from every side because the cut-outs circle the whole bowl. Unlit during the day, it still earns its place as a decorative piece, with the blue and the speckle doing the work. It makes a thoughtful small gift for someone who loves candlelight, and it sits naturally in a relaxed, coastal-leaning room alongside shells, linen and weathered wood.
The holder is made entirely of stoneware, a clay fired at high temperature until it is dense and hard-wearing, and at 0.26KG it has a pleasingly solid feel. The flared foot lifts the bowl clear of the surface on which it stands, and the speckling carries across both the bowl and the foot. We like it best on natural textures such as rattan, linen or raw wood, where the blue looks its richest, or gathered with a few others on a tray for a bigger glow. The styling props shown are not included.

Frequently Asked
What material is it?
It is made of 100% stoneware, a dense clay fired at high temperature, with a glossy, speckled surface in blue.
How big is it?
It is 9cm across and 8.5cm tall, a compact size made for a tealight and easy to place on a shelf, sill or table.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 0.26KG, so it has a pleasingly solid feel for its size without being awkward to move around the room.
Is the pattern on every side?
Yes. Almond-shaped and triangular cut-outs circle the whole bowl, so the glow of a lit tealight shows through from every angle.
Will it look good without a candle?
Yes. The blue, the glossy speckled surface and the pierced pattern make it a decorative piece in its own right, lit or unlit.
