Parker 6 Light E27 Pendant Light 55cm - Weathered Zinc

Six E27 lamps are arranged across a wide circle here, spreading light over a table or island instead of massing it in the middle. At 55cm across it reads as a large fitting, though the open arrangement keeps it from crowding a room. Weathered zinc gives it a soft greyed cast, with brushed nickel lifting the detail, and the pairing suits rooms where polished chrome would look too bright. Fit suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer and the light level comes down.

The drop adjusts through a useful range, so it can hang low over a dining table or sit higher in a hallway or stairwell. We reach for it when a kitchen island wants light along its whole length rather than in patches, and it earns its keep in a tall room where a smaller pendant would simply disappear. Filament-style LED lamps look right in the holders, whether you pick round GLS, teardrop or slim tubular shapes, and together they give a generous, well spread light. Keep it to dry indoor rooms.

The weathered zinc carries most of the character, and it is a forgiving finish that will not show every mark. Dust it with a dry cloth now and again, with the power off and the lamps cold before you reach up, and leave sprays and polishes out of it. It carries a one year warranty. How far down does it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 550mm to 1460mm, with a body height of 335mm, so it can be set close to the ceiling or well down over a table.

What lamps should I use?

Six E27 lamps, up to 20W each. LED works well, and GLS A60, ST64 squirrel cage or tubular T45 shapes all suit the fitting. Lamps are supplied separately.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps together with a dimmer that is matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the pendant.

Is it suitable for a bathroom or a covered porch?

No. It is rated IP20, which means dry interior rooms only.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 4.6kg without lamps.

What size does it cover?

At 550mm in diameter it suits a dining table of around 1.2m or more in length, or an island of similar width, where six lamps can spread out properly.
