Description

Paris is a ceiling light in white and antique brass. A wide white pleated shade set tight against the ceiling, folded from stiff paper and gathered at a brass ring at its centre, opening out to a broad skirt whose rim is cut in a row of sharp points. A band of narrow slots is cut round the shade just above the rim, so light escapes sideways in a fine dotted line. A brushed brass plate caps the top and holds it to the plaster. It is the widest of its form. It measures 50cm across and 17cm tall, in metal, PVC and oak wood.

Mounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface. It is the light you put in first and stop noticing, which is the point of a flush fitting: it does the general lighting so the lamps in the room can do the rest.

The holder is G9 and takes up to 28W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

Which bulb does it take?

A G9 lamp up to 28W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
