Description

The Panasonic C size zinc carbon batteries deliver 1.5V power for low-drain devices including wall clocks, remote controls, torches and radio receivers. Sold as a 2-pack blister, these batteries use zinc chloride chemistry suited to intermittent or low-current applications rather than high-drain continuous use.

Designed for household and workplace environments where devices draw minimal continuous power, the C size format fits standard battery compartments in clocks, older torches, portable radios and some children's toys. The zinc carbon chemistry provides cost-effective power when devices are used occasionally or draw only small amounts of current between rest periods.

The batteries carry a mercury-free and lead-free composition, meeting environmental standards without heavy metal content. Each C cell measures 50mm in height and 26mm in diameter, matching the international standard C size specification. The blister pack protects the batteries before use and keeps them together for storage in drawers or toolboxes.

Frequently Asked

What devices are these batteries suited for?

C size zinc carbon batteries work well in low-drain devices such as wall clocks, remote controls, portable AM/FM radios and torches used occasionally. They are not recommended for high-drain devices like digital cameras, motorised toys or high-output LED torches, where alkaline or rechargeable batteries perform better.

How do zinc carbon batteries differ from alkaline?

Zinc carbon batteries use zinc chloride chemistry and provide lower total capacity than alkaline batteries. They cost less but discharge faster under continuous or high-current loads. For devices that draw power intermittently or in small amounts, zinc carbon offers acceptable performance at a lower price point.

What is the shelf life?

Zinc carbon batteries typically have a shelf life of 2-3 years when stored at room temperature in the original packaging. Performance degrades faster if batteries are stored in warm or humid conditions.

Are these batteries rechargeable?

No. Zinc carbon batteries are single-use and cannot be recharged. Attempting to recharge them can cause leakage or rupture.
