This is a pair of C size alkaline cells from the Panasonic Alkaline Power range, supplied together on a single blister card. A C cell is the short, fat round battery that sits between an AA and a D, and in its alkaline form it carries the IEC code LR14. Each cell gives the standard 1.5V, so it drops straight into anything built around a C or LR14 holder with no adaptor or sleeve. Alkaline chemistry is the everyday choice at this size: it keeps its charge well while sitting in a drawer and delivers steadily through moderate, continuous loads rather than short bursts of very high current.

C cells turn up in the larger household items rather than in small electronics: torches and camping lanterns, portable radios, wireless door chimes, motorised soap dispensers, some ride-on toys and the bigger battery powered wall clocks.
