Description
A storage basket cut and stitched from thick tan leather, 45cm across the front and 29cm high, on an oval footprint. The wall stands tall at the back and dips through the front, so what is inside stays in view. The panels are stitched at the seams and left unlined, which puts the rough underside of the hide on the inner face. A wide leather handle arches over the opening and its two ends run down the front, each fastening through a dark metal buckle.
At 45 by 37cm on the floor and 29cm high it takes folded blankets, a rolled throw, a stack of magazines or cut logs, and the dipped front means none of that has to be lifted over a high edge. It stands on a rug beside a bench and takes a blanket hung over the rim. It has no feet and sits flat on whatever it stands on.
The leather is thick and full grain, shaped and stitched panel by panel, with the grain, the creases and the colour variation of the hide left showing. It softens with use and takes on a patina, so it will not stay the colour it arrives in. Panasi runs to two baskets: this wide one, and a taller, narrower one at 35cm high and 33 by 26cm.

Frequently Asked
How much will it hold?
It measures 45 by 37cm on the floor and stands 29cm high, which takes folded blankets, magazines or cut logs.
Is it lined?
No. The inner face is the rough underside of the same hide.
How does the handle fasten?
It arches over the opening and its two ends buckle to the front panel, one on each strap.
Is there another size?
Yes. A taller and narrower basket, 35cm high and 33 by 26cm.
How should the leather be looked after?
Wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth and keep chemicals and household cleaners off it. To stop the leather drying out and cracking, feed it with a specialist leather product, petroleum jelly or flax oil.
