Description

The Palladium is an 80cm diameter wall clock with visible moving gears and cogs in a bronze gold finish, set behind a glass face on a black metal frame. The clock uses a battery-powered quartz movement that drives the decorative gear train as well as the hour, minute and second hands. Instead of traditional numerals, raised bronze gold hour markers sit around the outer rim, giving a minimalist face that foregrounds the mechanism.

Designed for residential and commercial interiors with wall space to accommodate the 80cm span, the Palladium suits living rooms, dining rooms, home offices and reception areas where a large-scale timepiece acts as both function and focal point. The clock requires 3 x AA batteries (not included) and is rated for indoor use only. The 8cm depth includes the clock body and any rear projection from the wall bracket.

The metal frame carries a black finish on both the outer rim and the hour marker ring, while the visible gears inside are finished in bronze gold to create contrast against the black backdrop. The glass face protects the mechanism from dust and allows the gear motion to be viewed without any distortion. At 9.5kg, the clock requires secure wall fixing into solid masonry or timber studs — hollow plasterboard alone will not support the weight.

Libra Interiors produces the Palladium as part of a coordinated range that includes mirrors and other decorative metalwork in matching black and bronze gold finishes. The clock pairs well with industrial, contemporary and mid-century interiors where exposed mechanisms and metallic accents are already present.

Frequently Asked

Do the gears actually move?

Yes. The quartz movement drives the decorative gear train as well as the clock hands, so the gears rotate continuously while the clock is running. The motion is slow and smooth rather than fast or noisy.

What batteries does it take?

The clock requires 3 x AA batteries, which are not included. Standard alkaline AA batteries typically last 9-12 months depending on the quality of the cell and ambient temperature.

What wall fixing is needed?

At 9.5kg, the clock must be fixed into solid masonry using wall plugs and screws, or into timber studs behind plasterboard. Hollow plasterboard fixings alone will not safely support this weight. A secure wall bracket is provided with the clock.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The clock is rated for indoor use only. The metal frame and mechanism are not sealed against moisture, so it should not be used in bathrooms, conservatories with high humidity, or any outdoor or semi-outdoor location.
