Description
The Knightsbridge outdoor up-down wall light houses two GU10 fittings inside a 162mm copper-effect stainless steel cylinder, casting light upward onto the wall above and downward onto the ground below. The IP65 rating seals the fitting against rain ingress and dust penetration, making it suitable for exposed exterior walls, driveways, patio areas and garden boundaries where weather protection is required.
Designed for mounting on brick, stone, render or painted exterior walls, the fitting projects 86mm from the surface and uses a circular 60mm backplate. The dual-beam pattern highlights architectural details above the fitting while illuminating pathways or doorsteps below, providing both decorative accent lighting and functional task light for navigation. Each GU10 socket accepts halogen or LED bulbs up to 35W (bulbs sold separately), giving control over colour temperature and beam angle depending on the chosen lamp.
The copper electroplating sits on a 304 stainless steel body that resists corrosion in coastal and high-moisture environments. The copper tone provides a warm metallic accent against brick or stone and will develop a natural patina over time when exposed to outdoor conditions. The clear diffuser at each aperture transmits the full beam without colour shift, allowing the lamp choice to determine the light quality. The fitting carries Class I earthing and requires connection to mains 230V 50Hz wiring via a weatherproof junction box or external wiring system.

Frequently Asked
What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?
IP65 confirms the fitting is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for exposed exterior walls, coastal areas and regions with heavy rain. It is not rated for submersion or direct ground-level water pooling.
What bulbs does it take?
The fitting takes two GU10 bulbs up to 35W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED GU10 bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor accent and security lighting.
Can the light direction be adjusted?
No. The fitting is fixed with one aperture facing upward and one facing downward. The beam pattern is determined by the GU10 bulb beam angle — narrower spot bulbs concentrate light, wider flood bulbs spread it across a larger area.
Will the copper finish tarnish?
The copper electroplating will develop a natural patina over time when exposed to outdoor conditions, particularly in coastal or high-humidity areas. This is a characteristic of copper and some users prefer the aged appearance. If a consistent finish is preferred, periodic cleaning with a copper polish can maintain the original tone.
