Description
The Knightsbridge LANT2 is an outdoor LED wall lantern with an integrated PIR motion sensor, built from black polycarbonate with an opal diffuser. The integrated 8W LED delivers 555 lumens at 4000K cool white and switches on automatically when the PIR detects movement within an 8m range across a 90° detection angle.
Designed for porch entrances, side gates, rear doors and garage walls where automated security lighting is needed, the lantern mounts directly onto external walls and connects to 230V mains supply. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for exposed positions under eaves or on open walls. A manual override allows the light to be switched permanently on or off when required, bypassing the PIR sensor.
The polycarbonate construction resists corrosion and UV degradation better than metal lanterns in coastal or high-rainfall locations. The opal diffuser spreads the 315° beam angle evenly across doorsteps and pathways without harsh glare. At 375mm height and 230mm projection from the wall, the lantern provides presence without dominating smaller doorways. The LED module is rated for 60,000 hours at L70B50, meaning the light output remains above 70% of initial lumens for approximately 20 years under typical residential use patterns.

Frequently Asked
How does the PIR sensor work?
The passive infrared sensor detects heat signatures from movement within an 8m range across a 90° detection angle. When triggered, the LED switches on automatically and remains lit for a preset duration before switching off. A manual override allows you to bypass the sensor and keep the light permanently on or off when needed.
Is this suitable for exposed outdoor positions?
Yes. The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for mounting under eaves, on open walls, or near doorways. The polycarbonate construction resists corrosion better than metal lanterns in coastal or high-rainfall locations.
Can the sensitivity or timer duration be adjusted?
Sensor settings depend on the specific model configuration. Check the product manual linked in the Downloads section for details on any adjustable parameters for the LANT2 model.
What type of bulb does it use?
The lantern has an integrated 8W LED module rated for 60,000 hours. The LED is not user-replaceable — when it reaches end of life the entire unit requires replacement. This is standard for integrated LED outdoor fittings.
