The Ophelia is a 400mm square semi-flush ceiling light built around a central crystal column and a perimeter frame of vertical crystal prisms, both set within a polished chrome structure. Five G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind a frosted glass diffuser at the base, casting light through the crystal and outward into the room. The central column suspends strands of cut crystal beads that catch and refract light, while the outer frame holds flat vertical crystal pieces in a regular rhythm around all four sides.

Designed for rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights where a full pendant would hang too low, the Ophelia's 400mm drop from ceiling to base suits hallways, bedrooms, smaller dining rooms and bathrooms with adequate clearance from showers. The semi-flush mount keeps the fitting close to the ceiling while the crystal detailing provides decorative impact. The frosted diffuser softens the light output, reducing glare and spreading illumination evenly across the ceiling plane and down into the room.

The polished chrome frame reflects surrounding light and pairs with both cool-toned contemporary interiors and warmer traditional schemes. The vertical crystal prisms around the perimeter give the fitting a defined architectural edge when viewed from the side, while the central cascade of beaded crystal adds organic movement when the light is on. What bulbs does the Ophelia take?

The fitting takes five G9 capsule bulbs, maximum 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm white light. The G9 base is a push-fit type, not a screw fitting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 400mm drop from ceiling to base suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights, making this a better choice than a full pendant for rooms where headroom is limited. The semi-flush mount keeps the main body close to the ceiling while maintaining decorative presence.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb packaging before purchasing.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the chrome frame and crystal with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks on the crystal, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid spraying liquid directly onto the fitting, as moisture can enter the bulb sockets and wiring.
