Description
The ONTEC S is a surface-mounted emergency LED light running 3.3W and delivering 150 lumens at a crisp 5000K daylight tone, which suits an emergency luminaire where clear escape-route marking matters more than warmth. It operates as a maintained emergency light fitting, so the LED stays lit during normal use and continues running on its internal battery once the mains supply fails. Across the US market the same role is filled by what is called an emergency LED light, and the 5000K output keeps signage and exit paths legible under fault conditions.
Built for both general and harsh locations, the ONTEC S works along corridors, stairwells, plant rooms and external walkways, with cold-rated electronics that hold up in unheated stores, loading bays and outdoor car parks where temperatures drop. Its 150 lumens are not intended as ambient room lighting; instead the output is aimed at marking the escape route and keeping the way out visible during an evacuation. Position it to wash the floor and signage along the path of travel rather than to light a space, and space units so the throw between fittings keeps the route continuously lit.
The housing is white plastic rated IP65, so it is weatherproof and handles exposed outdoor and wet locations including direct rain and washdown areas. It mounts to a wall or ceiling on its surface bracket and carries auto-test functionality, running its own duration and function checks so manual testing is reduced. The fitting runs on 220-240V AC mains and weighs 456g. The wider ONTEC S range covers further emergency formats from Kanlux for matching specification across a site.

Frequently Asked
Is this a maintained or non-maintained emergency light?
This is a maintained emergency light, meaning the LED is lit during normal operation and stays on once the mains supply is lost. It draws on its internal battery during a power failure so the escape route remains visible. Maintained fittings are well suited to areas that are occupied while the lights are normally on.
What does the auto-test function do?
The auto-test feature runs the required function and duration checks automatically on a set schedule, so the battery and LED are verified without someone testing each fitting by hand. This cuts down routine maintenance time across a larger installation. You should still keep records in line with your testing regime.
Can it be used outdoors and in cold or damp locations?
Yes. With an IP65 rating the ONTEC S is weatherproof and suitable for exposed outdoor and wet locations such as external walkways and washdown areas. The cold-rated electronics also let it work reliably in unheated stores, loading bays and car parks where temperatures fall.
How should the white housing be cleaned?
Wipe the white plastic housing with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent, then dry it off. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners that could mark the surface or affect the seal that gives it its IP65 rating. Keeping the lens clear helps maintain the 150 lumen output.
