The Nordica is a 450mm flush ceiling light with a black fabric shade stretched over a steel ring frame and an opal white acrylic diffuser set into the centre. An integrated 21W LED sits behind the diffuser, producing 2100 lumens of warm 3000K light that spreads evenly across the room without visible bulbs or glare points. The 110mm height from ceiling to shade bottom suits rooms with 2.3-2.5m ceiling heights where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and dining areas in flats and houses with standard UK ceiling heights, the Nordica mounts directly to a ceiling rose via a shallow backplate concealed within the shade frame. The black fabric outer rim contrasts with the illuminated white centre, creating a defined edge that reads as a decorative element even when the light is off. The flush mount eliminates the drop of a semi-flush or pendant, leaving clear headroom for taller residents and furniture placement.

The black polyester fabric shade has a fine-weave texture visible under close inspection but reads as a smooth matt finish from normal viewing distance. The opal diffuser behind it softens the LED output and prevents hotspots, so the light appears uniform across the 450mm diameter face. At 2.5kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or supporting batten rather than plasterboard alone. The non-dimmable LED is rated for 25,000 hours at 3000K, which gives approximately 11 years of use at 6 hours per day.

Is the Nordica suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 110mm height projection makes it suitable for rooms with 2.3m ceilings or above. The flush mount design avoids the 300-500mm drop of a typical pendant, leaving clear headroom.

Can it be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED is not dimmable and should be wired to a standard on/off switch only. Connecting it to a dimmer switch may cause flickering or damage the driver circuit.

What size room does the 2100 lumens cover?

The 2100 lumen output at 3000K suits bedrooms and living rooms up to approximately 15-18m². For larger open-plan spaces or rooms requiring brighter task lighting, a second fitting or supplementary lighting would be needed.

How is the black fabric shade cleaned?

Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the fabric surface. For marks, a barely-damp microfibre cloth with water only is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fabric or using cleaning sprays.
