Description

The Nermelle is an LED wall light with two curved, wavy bars rising from a round wall plate, one bar a little taller than the other. The body is aluminium in a bright chrome finish, and each bar carries a white plastic diffuser over integrated LEDs, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It stands 45cm tall, measures 11.5cm in length and sits just 9cm out from the wall. That lets it fit a narrow stretch of wall where a wider light would crowd the space. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in rooms that stay dry.

Each of the two lights is rated at 5.2W and gives 700lm at 3000K, a warm light that sits comfortably in living spaces after dark. We like it in a hallway or on a landing, where the tall, slim shape suits the wall. We also like it beside a bed, where a pair either side gives a balanced look. In a living room or dining room it adds wall lighting alongside a ceiling light and softens the corners of the room. Keep it away from bathrooms, the sink area of a kitchen and outdoor walls, as IP20 is for dry rooms only.

The light is not dimmable and has no switch of its own. It is switched at the wall, so it comes on with the room's light switch at one steady level. Because it is not dimmable, pair it with a standard wall switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired-in light it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
