Description

This is a kids rug cut to the outline of a mushroom: a broad brown cap with five raised spots in a lighter tone, a band of carved gills beneath it and a rounded stem that widens towards its base. It is 100% wool and tufted, 90cm long and 85cm wide, so it covers a patch of floor rather than a whole room. The cap has a tight, looped texture, while the stem and the spots have a fuller, cut pile that stands a little proud, so the shape reads by touch as well as by sight.

It belongs in a nursery, a child's bedroom or a playroom: beside the bed for bare feet first thing in the morning, or in the middle of the floor as a soft place for building blocks and wooden trains.
