Moris Wooden Wall Shelf - Blue

Our Moris shelf is a wall shelf for books, made from 100% paulownia wood and finished in blue. Three ledges run across its front, one over another, each with a solid lip that holds picture books upright with their covers facing out rather than their spines. The two side panels rise into rounded tops a little past the uppermost ledge, which gives the shelf a soft, friendly outline. It measures 38cm long, 12cm wide and 70cm tall; the 12cm is its shallow side, so it sits close to the wall and keeps the floor beneath it free.

It belongs in a child's bedroom or a nursery, where books shown cover first are far easier for small hands to choose from than a row of spines. Hung beside a reading chair or a floor cushion, it turns a quiet corner of the room into a reading nook, and because it is on the wall rather than the floor it suits rooms where floor space is taken by a cot, a bed or a play mat. Grown-ups have uses for it too: in a hallway it keeps magazines and post in order, and in a study or home office it holds notebooks, catalogues and slim reference books.
