Description

The Morbarne is a black ceiling light that sits close to the ceiling. It pairs a round steel canopy in a black finish with a tapered drum shade in a textured cream fabric. It stands 25cm tall and measures 35cm across, so it gives the room a soft, generous shape overhead without hanging low. It takes a single E27 bulb up to a maximum of 60W. The bulb is not included, which leaves the choice of brightness and warmth entirely yours. It is rated IP20, so it belongs indoors in dry rooms, never in a bathroom or anywhere near water.

Because it sits close to the ceiling, the Morbarne suits rooms where a hanging pendant would feel in the way, such as a living room with a lower ceiling, a bedroom, a landing or a hallway. The textured fabric gives a warmer, softer look than a smooth shade. The cream tone sits comfortably with natural wood, linen and neutral walls, while the black canopy draws a crisp line where it meets the ceiling. Light falls through the open base of the shade and gives a gentle, even glow across the room, and the tapered sides hide the bare bulb from most angles.

The body is steel in a black finish, and slim arms hold the shade centred around the bulb holder. There is no switch on the light itself. It is switched at the wall, so it works from the switch you already have. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, and as a wired-in ceiling light it should be installed by a qualified electrician. We would pair it with a warm white E27 LED bulb for a cosy evening glow. The installation instructions come as a download, and at 1.546KG packed it is easy to handle at fitting time.
