Description

Mesh is a ceiling light in opal. A squat opal ellipsoid, much wider than it is tall, with a faint grid pressed into the glass so a fine mesh pattern shows across the surface. The glass is warm white and thick, and the grid reads only as a pale texture when the lamp is off. It sits directly under a shallow black drum that holds it to the ceiling, so the fitting reads as a dark cap over a pale belly. There is no flex and no drop. The form is low and broad and sits close against the plaster. It measures 20cm across.

Mounted flush it clears a doorway and a low ceiling, so a corridor, a landing or a small bedroom is its territory, and it lights the whole room evenly rather than pooling on one surface. It is the light you put in first and stop noticing, which is the point of a flush fitting: it does the general lighting so the lamps in the room can do the rest.

The holder is G9 and takes up to 28W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

A G9 lamp up to 28W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
