Meridan 6 Light Smoked Glass Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Meridan is a 600mm semi-flush ceiling light with six G4 bulb fittings arranged on polished chrome arms that radiate from a central chrome canopy. Each arm is tipped with an angular smoked glass panel positioned to catch and diffuse light from the bulb behind it, creating a tonal gradient across the smoked glass as the light passes through.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant drop is impractical, the Meridan's 380mm projection from ceiling to base keeps it clear of head height while still providing ambient light across a 4-5m room. The semi-flush mount sits tight to the ceiling, making it suitable for hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms and living rooms in flats and period conversions with lower ceiling heights. The six G4 fittings (bulbs sold separately) allow total wattage to be tailored to the room size by choosing 10W, 15W or 20W bulbs per socket.

The smoked glass panels soften the direct light from each G4 bulb and add a grey-tinted accent to the polished chrome framework. The chrome finish provides a high-gloss reflective surface that pairs with modern and contemporary interiors, and the angular glass arrangement gives the fitting a sculptural presence when viewed from below. The fitting weighs 2.9kg once fully assembled and requires a ceiling mounting point capable of supporting this load.

What bulbs does it take?

The Meridan uses six G4 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. G4 halogen capsules are the most common option, though LED G4 equivalents are available if you prefer lower energy consumption and cooler operation.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G4 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. Standard halogen G4 bulbs are typically dimmable by default, but LED G4 bulbs must be explicitly marked as dimmable to work without flickering.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 380mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. Below 2.2m the bottom of the fitting may sit uncomfortably low in relation to head height when standing.

Can it be fitted to a sloped ceiling?

No. The Meridan is designed for horizontal ceiling mounting only. The central canopy sits flush to the ceiling, so any slope will cause the arms to hang at an angle rather than radiating evenly.
