Description

The Mercury is a 1m mains power lead with a UK 3-pin plug at one end and an IEC C13 female connector at the other, built with heat-resistant rubber-coated cable rated for continuous use up to 90°C. The cable uses 3-core construction with 0.75mm² conductors and carries BSI approval for both the plug (BSI 1363) and cable, with the plug fused at 10A for appliances drawing up to 2300W.

Designed for electronic equipment that generates heat during operation or for use in heated environments where standard PVC mains cables would degrade, the Mercury suits stage lighting equipment, projectors, heated displays, industrial control boxes and AV equipment in warm server rooms or enclosed racks. The IEC C13 female connector is the standard cold inlet socket found on most computers, monitors, amplifiers and professional audio/lighting gear.

The heat-resistant rubber sheath remains flexible at elevated temperatures and resists cracking or hardening that affects cheaper PVC cables in high-heat applications. At 149g and 1m length, the cable provides enough reach to connect equipment on a desk, rack shelf or stage truss to a nearby mains outlet without excess slack. The black finish blends into professional AV and IT installations.

Frequently Asked

What temperature is the cable rated for?

The heat-resistant rubber sheath is rated for continuous use up to 90°C. This makes it suitable for equipment that generates heat during operation or for use in warm environments where standard PVC mains cables would degrade.

What equipment uses the IEC C13 connector?

IEC C13 is the standard cold inlet socket found on most computers, monitors, projectors, amplifiers, mixers, professional lighting fixtures and other AV or IT equipment. If your device has a kettle-style inlet socket, this cable will fit.

Is the plug fused?

Yes. The UK 3-pin plug carries BSI 1363 approval and is fused at 10A, suitable for appliances rated up to 2300W on UK 230V mains.

Can this replace a standard kettle lead?

Yes, provided your equipment draws 10A or less and you need the heat resistance. For standard computing equipment in normal office temperatures, a cheaper standard IEC lead would work equally well. Use the Mercury where heat is a factor.
