Description

The Mercury IEC extension lead connects an IEC C14 plug to an IEC C13 socket across a 2m 3-core cable, rated for 10A maximum current and 2300W maximum power on 230V mains. The cable extends IEC mains connections between rack equipment, from a desktop tower to a monitor, or between a UPS and connected devices.

Designed for professional AV installations, home offices and IT environments, the 2m length bridges typical desk-height gaps or provides short-run rack extensions without the bulk of a longer lead. The IEC C13/C14 connector pair is the standard found on most desktop monitors, PC power supplies, rack PDUs and professional audio equipment, so the cable fits existing infrastructure without adaptors.

The 3 x 0.75mm² cable construction carries BSI approval and provides sufficient current capacity for equipment drawing up to 10A continuous load. The black finish on both cable sheath and moulded connector bodies matches standard rack and IT equipment, keeping cable runs visually consistent in visible installations. At 218g the cable is light enough to support its own weight when suspended vertically in a rack without strain on the connector.

Frequently Asked

What devices is this cable compatible with?

The IEC C14 plug to IEC C13 socket configuration is the standard found on desktop monitors, PC power supplies, rack PDUs, professional audio equipment and most AV gear. If your device uses a standard IEC kettle lead, this extension will fit.

Can this cable handle high-power devices?

The cable is rated for 10A maximum current and 2300W maximum power on 230V mains. This covers typical desktop monitors, PCs, small rack amplifiers and similar equipment. For devices drawing more than 10A continuous load, use a heavier-gauge cable.

Is the cable suitable for rack installations?

Yes. At 218g the cable supports its own weight when suspended vertically in a rack without placing strain on the connectors. The 2m length suits typical rack-height extensions or bridging from a PDU to nearby equipment.

Does it carry BSI approval?

Yes. The 3-core cable construction is BSI-approved, meeting UK safety standards for mains power cables.
