Description

The Mercury 3-core round mains cable is a 0.75mm² CSA flexible power cable with three conductors, each made from 24 strands of 0.2mm copper wire, enclosed in a black PVC outer sheath. The cable carries a 6A maximum current rating and meets BSI BS6500 and VDE safety standards for fixed indoor electrical installations.

Designed for light-duty power distribution in residential, commercial and light industrial settings, the cable suits fixed wiring behind walls, under floors and in conduit where flexibility during installation is needed but the circuit will not be subject to repeated flexing in use. The 6.1mm overall diameter allows it to be routed through standard trunking, conduit and back boxes without excessive bending radius. Common applications include lighting circuits, low-power appliance feeds and control wiring where 6A capacity is adequate.

The round PVC sheath provides mechanical protection and a degree of moisture resistance for indoor use. The black finish reduces visual impact when the cable is surface-mounted in domestic or commercial interiors. The 100m length is supplied across four reels, allowing the cable to be cut to required lengths on-site without waste. Each conductor is colour-coded to UK wiring standards: brown (live), blue (neutral), green/yellow (earth).

The 24-strand construction in each core provides more flexibility than single solid-core cable of equivalent CSA, making the Mercury easier to work with during installation where the cable must navigate bends, corners and tight spaces.
