Description

The Mercury 2 core round mains cable is a flexible PVC-insulated cable with a 1.0mm² cross-sectional area, rated for up to 10A continuous current. Each core contains 32 strands of 0.2mm copper wire, providing flexibility for installation through conduit, trunking or direct fixing along surfaces. The black PVC outer sheath measures 6.4mm in diameter and provides mechanical protection against abrasion and moisture ingress during typical indoor installation.

Designed for light electrical and appliance wiring in residential, commercial and light industrial settings, the cable suits fixed installations where two-core wiring is needed without an earth conductor. Typically for double-insulated appliances, LED driver connections, low-power lighting circuits and control wiring. The 10A rating handles loads up to 2,300W on 230V mains supply. The cable is supplied on a 100m reel, with two reels per pack.

Both BS6500 and VDE standards approval means the cable meets UK and European safety requirements for insulation resistance, voltage withstand and conductor resistance. The flexible construction allows the cable to be bent around corners and through tight spaces without kinking, while the PVC sheath resists common household chemicals, oils and solvents.
