Description

The Mercury is a 2-core round mains cable with 0.75mm² cross-sectional area, supplied on a 100m reel with a black PVC outer sheath. Each core comprises 24 strands of 0.2mm diameter copper wire, giving the cable flexibility for routing through tight bends and confined spaces. The 5.8mm overall diameter keeps the cable compact enough for running behind skirting boards, through conduit, or inside appliance housings.

Designed for light electrical appliance connections, table lamp wiring, extension lead construction, and low-current mains circuits, the cable is rated to carry up to 6A continuous current. It meets both BSI BS6500 and VDE standards, making it suitable for use in fixed installations within the UK and Europe. The round profile distributes mechanical stress more evenly than flat twin cables when the cable is flexed or routed around corners.

The black PVC sheath resists moisture, abrasion and common household chemicals, and provides basic insulation and protection for the copper conductors inside. The 100m reel length suits contractors and installers who need to cut custom lengths on site without running multiple shorter reels. The cable is not suitable for outdoor burial or prolonged exposure to UV light. It is intended for indoor use only or for temporary outdoor connections protected from direct weather.
