Description

The Mercury is a 1m UK mains power lead terminating in a right-angle IEC C13 socket, rated at 10A and 2300W maximum load. The UK plug is fused to BS 1363 and the three-core cable uses 3 x 0.75mm² conductors with BSI approval. The right-angle C13 connector sits parallel to the wall once plugged in, reducing the rear clearance needed behind equipment.

Designed for desktop PCs, monitors, printers, AV receivers and other IEC C13-compatible equipment mounted close to walls or in tight rack positions, the right-angle termination allows the cable to exit downwards or sideways rather than projecting straight back. The 1m length suits typical desktop-to-wall-socket distances without excess cable slack, making cable management cleaner in home offices, studios and installations where cable runs are visible.

The black PVC sheathing on the cable and connectors keeps the lead visually neutral against most equipment and interior finishes. The 10A fuse in the UK plug protects against overload for devices drawing up to 2300W at 230V mains, covering most consumer electronics and office peripherals. The cable weighs 144g, light enough to avoid strain on wall sockets or equipment power inlets.

Frequently Asked

What equipment uses an IEC C13 socket?

The IEC C13 is the standard power inlet on desktop PCs, monitors, printers, AV receivers, amplifiers, and much studio and rack-mount equipment. If the device has a three-pin inlet that accepts a standard kettle lead, it's likely C13.

Why use a right-angle connector?

The right-angle C13 exits parallel to the wall once plugged in, reducing the rear clearance needed behind equipment. This allows monitors, PCs and AV gear to sit closer to walls without the cable projecting straight back and forcing the equipment forward.

What's the maximum load this cable can handle?

The cable is rated at 10A and 2300W maximum at 230V mains. This covers most consumer electronics, office equipment and AV gear. High-draw devices like large laser printers or older CRT monitors should be checked against their nameplate rating before use.

Is the UK plug fused?

Yes. The UK plug contains a 10A fuse and complies with BS 1363, the British Standard for UK mains plugs and sockets.
