Description

The Mercury 12V DC cigar lighter extension lead adds 2m of reach between a vehicle's cigar lighter socket and a 12V accessory plug. A male cigar lighter plug on one end connects to the vehicle socket, and a female cigar lighter socket on the other end accepts standard 12V accessory plugs. The lead is fused at the male plug end with a 5A 6x32mm fuse and includes an LED indicator that lights when the circuit is live.

Designed for cars, vans, caravans and boats, the extension lead allows 12V accessories to be positioned further from the dashboard socket without needing to relocate the socket itself. This suits dash cams mounted centrally on the windscreen, cool boxes positioned in the footwell or boot, tyre inflators used at the rear of the vehicle, and phone chargers or power inverters placed in rear seats. The 2m cable length typically reaches from a front dashboard socket to the rear seat area in most saloons and hatchbacks.

The red outer cable sheath is PVC with a 1.5mm² core suitable for loads up to 5A continuous draw at 12V, equivalent to 60W. The fuse protects both the extension lead and the vehicle's electrical system from short circuits or overload. The LED indicator on the male plug end glows when the vehicle ignition is on and the socket is live, confirming the circuit is active before connecting an accessory.
