The Mercury is a single-gang 13A trailing socket housed in a heavy-duty black rubber body with an integrated cable clamp at the rear. The rubber construction provides impact resistance and durability in workshop, garage and site environments where dropped tools, abrasion and moisture exposure would damage standard plastic trailing sockets.

Designed for extending mains power to a single tool or appliance, the socket accepts standard UK 13A plugs and is rated for loads up to 3,120W on 230V mains. The integrated cable clamp grips the incoming mains cable where it enters the body, providing strain relief that prevents the cable from being pulled out of the internal terminals during movement or accidental tugging. This makes the socket suitable for portable applications where the cable is subject to repeated handling.

The compact 60mm x 90mm footprint sits discreetly behind furniture or equipment, and the low-profile 28mm depth allows the socket to fit into tight spaces between walls and appliances. The socket conforms to BS1363/A, the British Standard for 13A plugs, socket-outlets and adaptors, meaning it meets the required electrical safety and mechanical performance criteria for UK domestic and commercial use. The black rubber finish resists marking and blends into industrial settings.
