Description
The Mercer is an 8-light chandelier built around a central matt black hub with eight arms extending in two tiers, each supporting a clear glass bubble shade. The arms terminate in brass sockets and collars that hold the glass globes, creating contrast between the black metalwork and warm brass accents. Each arm holds a single E14 bulb (sold separately, max 25W per socket).
Designed for dining rooms, open-plan living areas and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Mercer provides both ambient and decorative lighting. The 75cm diameter and 100cm drop suit tables or islands up to 180cm long, while the two-tier arrangement spreads light evenly across the space below. The chandelier weighs 4.1kg and requires ceiling fixings rated for at least 6kg when installed.
The clear glass bubbles show the filament or LED element inside each bulb, so decorative filament bulbs (such as vintage-style LED) pair well with the fitting. The matt black finish on the iron frame absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping visual focus on the glass and the brass detailing. The brass collars at each socket add warmth without overpowering the black frame, creating a balance that works in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
The Art Deco influence comes through in the symmetrical tiered arrangement and the geometric relationship between the arms, which radiate at fixed intervals from the central hub. The Mercer suits interiors that mix metals (black with brass or bronze) and works particularly well in rooms with dark timber furniture, deep-toned walls or monochrome schemes.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Mercer take?
The chandelier takes eight E14 small Edison screw bulbs, rated up to 25W each. Bulbs are not included. Decorative filament bulbs (LED or vintage-style) work particularly well as the clear glass bubbles show the bulb element when lit.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 100cm drop from ceiling rose to the bottom of the lowest glass bubble requires a minimum ceiling height of 2.7m to maintain 1.7m clearance below. In entrance halls or double-height spaces the chandelier can be hung lower for greater visual impact.
Is the chandelier dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs used. LED bulbs must be marked as dimmable on the packaging, and the dimmer switch must be rated for LED loads. Incandescent and halogen E14 bulbs dim without restriction on a standard trailing-edge dimmer.
How is the glass cleaned?
Each glass bubble can be removed from its brass collar by gently lifting it free once the bulb has been removed. Wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly before refitting. The black iron frame can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust.
