Description

This is the mid-size of the three globe wall lights in the Heritage range, a cast iron globe held in a banded cage, taken from a Victorian original. It stands 1.05m tall and measures 510mm across. It is carried on a scroll bracket.

It belongs on a front door, a courtyard or a passage. It weighs 35.00KG, so the fixing needs to go into structural timber or masonry rather than into plasterboard. Harte rate it IP44, which covers splashing from any direction, so a covered or partly sheltered position is right; for a fully exposed position look at the IP65 fittings in the range. The same pattern runs from 593mm to 1.47m, so you can match a pair across two positions without changing the look.

Glazing is polycarbonate and the lamp is an E27 screw fitting supplied without a bulb, so you choose the output and the colour rather than accepting a sealed unit. The maximum is 100W in total across one lamp; a 7W LED at 2700K is the usual choice. It is made in cast iron. Harte cast, spray and glaze each light to order in County Wexford, so allow two to five weeks, and any RAL colour can go on in place of gloss black if you say so when ordering. An LED panel option is available in place of the lamp holder. Wiring an outdoor fitting needs a qualified electrician.
