Description

The Malawi outdoor wall light is a modern aluminium fitting with an adjustable panel head that pivots on twin arms, so the light surface can be angled to suit the spot you want covered. Its integrated LED puts out 700 lumens from just 5W, with a colour temperature you can select across 2300 to 4000K, moving from a warm glow up to neutral white. A built-in motion and twilight sensor switches the light on when it is needed.

Rated IP65, it is built to handle rain, dust and the exposure of an open wall, making it a sensible choice for garden walls, doorways, patios and porches. The flexible power options let it run on solar energy, mains voltage or a hybrid of both, drawing on mains only when battery charge is low.

The housing is finished in anthracite, a dark tone that sits quietly against most exterior walls. It measures 18cm wide, 23.5cm high and projects from the wall, weighing 1.9kg, and mounts to the wall via the solid base.

Is the Malawi suitable for exposed outdoor walls?

Yes. It carries an IP65 rating, so it is protected against dust and water jets and copes with rain and general weather exposure.

How is it powered?

It offers flexible operation: solar energy only, mains voltage only, or hybrid. In hybrid mode it switches to mains automatically when the battery charge is insufficient, and the battery charges via the solar panel.

Can I change the bulb?

No. The Malawi uses an integrated LED rated at 5W and 700 lumens, so there is no replaceable bulb.

Is this light dimmable?

No, it is not dimmable, though the colour temperature is selectable across 2300 to 4000K and a motion and twilight sensor controls switching.
