Maddison 6 Light Round Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Maddison is a 450mm round flush crystal ceiling light with six G9 bulb fittings housed within a polished chrome frame, surrounded by cascading strands of rectangular and square-cut crystal droplets. The 260mm drop from ceiling to base allows the fitting to work in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.3m upward, where a traditional pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms and lounges with standard or lower ceiling heights, the Maddison combines ambient room lighting with decorative sparkle. The six G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the crystal curtain, so when lit the individual crystal pieces refract and multiply the light across their faceted surfaces. The flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose with the wiring concealed inside the chrome backplate.

Each crystal strand hangs from the polished chrome drum in a tiered arrangement, with longer pieces toward the centre creating a waterfall profile when viewed from below. The chrome finish reflects room light during the day and acts as a secondary reflector when the bulbs are on. At 6.7kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or ceiling plate rated for the weight. The polished chrome pairs well with cool-toned interiors, modern kitchens and bathrooms outside zones 0-2.

What bulbs does it take?

The Maddison takes six G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit LED G9 capsules between 2-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible dimmer.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 260mm drop suits rooms with ceiling heights from 2.3m upward. In a 2.4m-high room the base of the crystals sits at approximately 2.14m above floor level, clearing headroom in most residential spaces.

How is it fitted to the ceiling?

The polished chrome backplate fixes directly to a UK ceiling rose or junction box. At 6.7kg the fitting must be secured into a joist or ceiling plate rated for the weight — it cannot be supported by plasterboard alone.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Remove loose dust with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush. For deeper cleaning, individual crystal strands can be wiped with a barely-damp lint-free cloth and distilled water. Avoid household sprays or polishes that may leave residue on the facets.
