The Maddison is a 450mm diameter flush crystal ceiling light built around a circular French gold frame that holds six G9 bulb fittings. Faceted crystal droplets cascade in tiered rows beneath the frame, cut to catch and refract light from the six internal bulbs. The 260mm overall drop keeps the fitting close to the ceiling, making it suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for entrance halls, bedrooms, and living rooms where a decorative ceiling fitting is needed without the drop of a chandelier, the Maddison provides ambient light through the six G9 bulbs combined with decorative sparkle from the crystal arrangement. The flush-mount design sits directly against the ceiling rose with no visible chain or suspension rod, giving a built-in appearance. The French gold finish is a warm satin-toned brass, softer than polished gold and more forgiving under daylight than chrome or nickel.

Each crystal piece is individually hung from the circular frame in a repeating pattern that creates visual rhythm when lit. The crystals are faceted glass rather than acrylic, so they produce sharper prismatic reflections when light passes through them. At 6.7kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or noggin — standard plasterboard fixings will not support the weight. What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Maddison takes six G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm white ambient light.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 260mm overall drop makes this a flush ceiling fitting rather than a pendant, so it works well in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4-2.7m where a hanging chandelier would feel too close to head height.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming — dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen.

What fixing is required for the 6.7kg weight?

The fitting must be screwed directly into a ceiling joist or a timber noggin fixed between joists. Standard plasterboard cavity fixings will not safely support 6.7kg. If there is no joist at the desired ceiling position, a noggin must be fitted between joists before the ceiling is re-closed.
