LYYT Solar LED Wall Light With Motion Sensor - Black IP44

The LYYT solar LED wall light combines a 4.5V 3W solar panel, 1200mAh battery, and 20 SMD 2835 LEDs behind a motion sensor that detects movement up to 5m away across a 120° detection angle. The integrated solar panel charges the battery during daylight, requiring no mains wiring or external power supply. Three operating modes—motion-triggered full brightness, constant dim light with motion boost, or continuous full output—are selectable via switches on the unit.

Designed for mounting on exterior walls, fences, gate posts and shed exteriors at heights up to 2m, the light fits locations where running mains cables is impractical or expensive. The PIR sensor automatically activates the LEDs at night when motion is detected within the 3.5-5m range, providing 150 lumens at full brightness or 75 lumens in dim mode. After an 8-hour daytime charge, the battery provides approximately 5 hours of full-brightness operation or 10 hours at reduced output.

The black ABS housing carries an IP44 rating, protecting the electronics against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction. This makes the light suitable for exposed positions on driveways, patios, garden paths and side passages where rain and dust are present. The compact 122 x 95 x 48mm footprint and 143g weight allow mounting on fence panels and timber posts without additional support. Installation requires one screw and the supplied wall plug. How long does the battery last on a full charge?

After approximately 8 hours of solar charging, the battery provides around 5 hours of continuous full-brightness output at 150 lumens, or 10 hours in the reduced 75-lumen dim mode. Actual runtime depends on the mode selected and the number of motion activations per night.

What are the three operating modes?

Mode 1 activates full brightness only when motion is detected, then switches off after a set period. Mode 2 provides constant dim light (75 lumens) that boosts to full brightness (150 lumens) when motion is detected. Mode 3 runs at full brightness continuously from dusk until the battery depletes.

Can it be installed in exposed positions?

Yes. The IP44 rating protects against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for patios, driveways, fences and gate posts. It is not waterproof against sustained rain ingress or submersion, so avoid positions where water pools directly on the unit.

Does it work in winter with limited daylight?

Battery performance depends on the amount of direct sunlight the panel receives during the day. In winter with shorter days and lower sun angles, charging may be slower and runtime reduced. Position the light where the panel receives maximum daylight exposure, and consider using the dim or motion-only modes to extend battery life.
