Description

The LYYT Motion Sensing LED Light is a 150mm battery-powered PIR light with 21 LEDs behind a frosted diffuser, housed in a white plastic body with a magnetic mounting strip. The passive infrared sensor detects movement within approximately 3 metres and activates the light automatically, holding illumination for 15 seconds before switching off when no further motion is detected. A 600mAh lithium polymer battery powers the unit and recharges via USB-C cable.

Designed for wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, under-stair cupboards, hallways and bedrooms where mains lighting is impractical, the light offers three colour temperature modes selectable by button press: white (daylight), warm white, and natural white. The adhesive magnetic strip allows the light to be mounted on metal surfaces directly or on non-metal surfaces via the included adhesive backing plate. The light can be removed from the magnetic strip for charging without dismounting the whole assembly.

The 72g weight and 150mm length make the light compact enough to fit inside typical kitchen wall cabinets (300mm internal height) or along the edge of drawer units. The PIR sensor positioned at the top of the unit provides coverage across the arc in front of the light, triggering when a door opens or a person approaches. Battery runtime depends on usage frequency, but typical intermittent activation (5-10 triggers per day) provides several weeks between recharges.

This listing includes two lights in the pack, allowing paired installation in symmetrical spaces or coverage of multiple dark areas from a single purchase. Each light operates independently with its own PIR sensor and battery.

How long does the battery last between charges?

Runtime depends on how often the light is triggered. With typical intermittent use (5-10 activations per day at 15 seconds each), the 600mAh battery provides several weeks of operation. Frequent triggering in high-traffic areas reduces runtime. The light recharges via USB-C cable (supplied).

What is the PIR detection range?

The passive infrared sensor detects movement within approximately 3 metres in front of the light. Detection works best when motion crosses the sensor's field of view rather than moving directly towards it.

Can the light stay on continuously without motion detection?

No. The light is designed as a motion-activated unit with a fixed 15-second auto-off timer. It does not have a manual override mode for constant illumination.

How is the magnetic mounting installed?

The adhesive magnetic strip sticks to the wall, cabinet interior or other surface. The light then clips onto the magnetic strip and can be removed for charging without peeling the strip away. On metal surfaces the magnetic strip can attach directly without adhesive.
