Description
The LYYT 50m LED rope light delivers cool white 5000K illumination through a 13mm diameter clear PVC tube containing 36 LEDs per metre, powered directly from 230V mains. The rope runs continuously for the full 50m length, consuming between 3.96-4.56W per metre depending on the section, and can be cut to custom lengths at designated 2m intervals marked along the cable.
Designed for architectural accent lighting, retail displays, event installations and building outlines, the rope light suits both indoor and outdoor applications with its IP44 weather-resistant rating. The flexible tube bends to a 60mm minimum radius, allowing it to follow corners, curves and signage profiles without kinking. Each cut point provides a safe termination when paired with the appropriate end cap, and the rope connects to mains power via a separate static power lead or 8-pattern controller lead (both sold separately).
The 5000K colour temperature produces a bright, neutral-white output similar to daylight-balanced task lighting, making it well-suited to commercial and retail environments where clarity and visibility matter more than warmth. The LEDs are rated for 100,000 hours of operation, equivalent to over 11 years of continuous use, and the 144-180 lumens per metre output provides visible definition when run along pathways, under canopies, or around signage frames. The clear PVC tube allows the individual LED points to remain visible when unlit, which suits applications where the rope itself becomes part of the design rather than disappearing into architecture.

Frequently Asked
Can this rope light be cut to custom lengths?
Yes. The rope has designated cut points every 2m along its length. Cutting at these marked points allows safe termination with an appropriate end cap (sold separately). Cutting anywhere else will damage the circuit and void any warranty.
Does it come with a mains plug or controller?
No. The 50m reel is supplied without a power lead. You need to purchase either a static power lead for constant-on operation or an 8-pattern controller lead for programmable effects. Both connect to the rope at one end and to a UK mains socket at the other.
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 means the rope is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against water splashing from any direction. It can handle rain and exterior installation, but all connection points and cut ends must be sealed with the appropriate caps to maintain the IP rating. Do not submerge the rope or leave open ends exposed to weather.
What colour is 5000K in practice?
5000K is a cool, neutral white similar to overcast daylight or office fluorescent lighting. It reads as bright and clean rather than warm or cosy, making it better suited to commercial, retail and task-oriented applications than residential ambient lighting.
