Description
The LYYT 50m LED rope light is a continuous 13mm-diameter flexible plastic tube containing 36 warm white 2800-3300K LEDs per metre, supplied on a reel and rated IP44 for weather resistance. The rope operates directly from 230V mains via a compatible power lead (sold separately) and draws 3.96-4.56W per metre, giving the full 50m reel a total consumption of approximately 200-230W.
Designed for hospitality, retail signage, architectural outlining, festive installation and garden lighting, the rope can be bent to a minimum 60mm radius and shaped around structures, balustrades, pergolas and building edges. The IP44 rating allows outdoor use in sheltered positions where the rope is protected from direct water jets, provided cut ends and connections are sealed with the manufacturer's end caps and heat-shrink. The rope can only be cut at marked 2m intervals to maintain circuit integrity.
The 100,000-hour LED lifespan translates to approximately 11 years of continuous operation or 25+ years at typical 12-hours-per-day usage before LEDs reach 70% of initial brightness. The warm white 2800-3300K colour temperature produces a soft amber-toned glow similar to tungsten filament lamps, diffused evenly along the entire length of the tube. The rope is compatible with both static mains power leads and 8-pattern controller leads from the same manufacturer, allowing chase, fade and flash effects where desired.

Frequently Asked
Does the rope light come with a plug or power lead?
No. The rope is supplied on a 50m reel without a power lead. A compatible 230V power lead (either static or 8-pattern controller version) must be purchased separately and connected to the rope before use.
Can the rope be cut to shorter lengths?
Yes, but only at marked 2m intervals. Cutting between these marks will damage the circuit. After cutting, the cut end must be sealed with an end cap and heat-shrink to maintain the IP44 rating and prevent moisture ingress.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
The IP44 rating allows outdoor use in sheltered positions such as under eaves, pergolas or covered balconies where the rope is protected from direct rain and water jets. All connections and cut ends must be properly sealed for outdoor installation.
What's the total power draw for the full 50m reel?
At 3.96-4.56W per metre, the full 50m reel draws approximately 200-230W total. This should be considered when selecting the power lead and checking the circuit capacity.
